What We Believe
We believe that God loves us, just as we are, but calls us to be the best we can be. This makes our church a community of followers, seekers and stumblers all held together by God’s love. All our hope is in what we call God’s good news.
• God speaks with people (Hebrews 1:1)
• Our best record of his speaking is the Bible (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
• The Bible is our authority for what God has to say (1 Thessalonians 2:5, Hebrews 4:12)
• The mystery and purpose of life is only understood in God 1 Corinthians 2:10-12)
• God created life to be good but we humans have a history of ruining it. (Genesis 1:26-31, and Genesis 3)
• In ruining life we find ourselves separated from God (Isaiah 59:2)
• God’s love for us is so deep and fierce that he will do anything to reunite with us (Revelations 21:3)
• God placed the life of his son Jesus on a cross to pay the price for our rebellion (Matthew 20:28, John 3:16)
• Re-united with God for all time (Hebrews 1:2-3)
• Returned to life in all its fullness (John 10:10)
• Adopted into God’s loving family (Romans 8:15-17, 1 John 4:7-8)
• Filled with God’s Spirit and power (Acts 1:8)
• Healed (Isaiah 53:5)
• Called to new lives of purpose and service (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:10)
• Drawn closer to God in worship (John 4:23-24)
